Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a complex neuro-developmental condition that can become apparent as early as 2 years of age. Autistic children's brains work differently from those of their neurotypical peers, leading them to a unique way of perceiving the world.
Autistic children often face challenges in areas such as language development, social understanding, daily living skills, and overstimulation. Since autism is a lifelong condition, our goal is not to eliminate it but to equip autistic children with meaningful skills for navigating their life. We focus on teaching social-emotional skills, language and communication, self-management, daily living skills (e.g., dressing, eating, washing), effective strategies for managing frustration and anxiety, and assertiveness skills that enable self-advocacy. Ultimately, our goal is to help your child become independent and happy.
ASD is a spectrum, meaning that autistic children have unique profiles, needs, strengths, and challenges. For this reason, our team of child psychologists will first assess your child’s assets and needs, and then collaborate with you to create an individualized plan. This plan will not only address behavioural challenges but, more important, equip your child with important life skills. We will always use concrete measurement systems to track progress, allowing you to personally judge the effectiveness of our treatment.
Our team is trained and certified in research-supported interventions, including Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)*, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
We operate mainly in Zuid-Holland, serving The Hague, Rotterdam, Leiden, Dordrecht, Delft, and surrounding areas. We offer therapy at home, in our centers, and at school.
